Review of UGEE M708 Drawing Tablet
today I'm going to be reviewing the Ugee drawing tablets. The Ugee graphics tablet is a 10 by 6 tablet, great for those who are getting into the entry-level of drawing with your computer through the Adobe Illustrator series or all the other programs that are out there.
I mainly use this on Adobe Illustrator while I was playing around with it and getting to know the tablet before making this review. Now, as always, I like to disclose how often that I've used this tablet and I've used it at least once a day for the past two and a half weeks. I've really gotten to know it and have come up with a list of advantages that might encourage you to buy it and some things that maybe will keep you from buying this unless you have a certain system setup. So let's talk about the good things.
So far it has a very good sensitivity range allowing you to get very precise with your drawings while you are at your computer and creating your wonderful masterpieces of art. Now I am NOT the best drawer in the world, but I still know how to use graphics tablet and I'm alright when I create my drawings. Other things that this has going for it comes in black and white versions. The pen feels spectacular in the hand you have those eight user-defined controls that allow you to set it up as you wish.
Maybe creating some back buttons or some special effects or maybe a quick erase button who knows. There are two buttons on the pen itself as well you can customize to do whatever you want. The pen actually has a nice holder as well that comes with it so you're not having to lay the pen on the tablet or trying to find a good place to store it.
It does come with a nice hefty base that you can put it into, so you can have a nice place to store your pen when you're not using this tablet, which I found was very nice. It can work with the latest software including Adobe Illustrator, mega studio, SIA and Creator there's there's tons out that you can use whether you in with Photoshop as well I mostly use this though with the Adobe Illustrator series the latest one from the Creative Cloud and it has worked spectacular. It comes in Windows based and a Mac based a row. actually the tablet is Windows and Mac base.
The Windows software has a very wide range of customized abilities allow you to customize those buttons allowing you to very granular control your tablet. One of the biggest down falls though, is that it doesn't have a lot of those same controls and get on the Windows version for the Mac.
It lacks completely a customizable interface for this tablet, so it doesn't allow you to create those customizable buttons. Plus, if you have a multi-monitor setup like I do of three displays, your tablet becomes drawing for those three displays so it might be a little bit of a backwards pedal if you're trying to be very precise with your drawings. And the tablet is thinking that you're trying to draw over three large screens. I have very high resolution screens so that was one of the downfalls that I found with this tablet. I ended up having to put my computer into mirror mode try to mirror all of the displays on my computer to be able to get the resolution to the size of the tablets down enough really to be able to use it to draw effectively.
Although when I did get it to a place that I liked it, the tablet weren't fantastically. So if you might be getting this for your Macintosh computer, be aware that the software suite does not include Mac support, so you're going to be losing a lot of that functionality. Although if you do have a Windows computer like a lot of people do, this is going to be perfect for you and it has a full software suite that comes with the tablet to get the driver to get the additional software to customize it so that only works on one screen and customizing those buttons as well.
That was only the one of the really big downfalls that I really found of this device. Other than that, it worked fantastically for what I was using it for. what's yet I'm not a huge artist, I do know how to draw, it's not that well, so I in the ways that I used it, at least it worked fantastically and I was happy to have been sent this tablet to review. So they're looking for an entry-level drawing tablet, Ugee driving tablet might be for you. This one was a 10 by 6 tablet which was actually pretty perfect size for drawing and having enough room to be precise and not having to pick up your hand or move the pin as often as you might think that you want to.
